I am a self-taught oil painter and jeweler from the Pacific Northwest.  I have been residing in New Orleans, Louisiana since 2008.  My body of work is a kaleidoscope of color, dimension and shape, brought to life through various techniques, media, and thematic explorations.

What do you love the most about creating art in New Orleans? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work?

People love and appreciate art here.  Art of all kinds is celebrated!

Describe your creative process. Are there any rituals or rites of passage you exercise before you begin a new piece?

Images come to mind usually through meditation or yoga.  I generally try to meditate before working.

Where do you draw inspiration?

Most of my works draw on my own psychological and emotional experiences of being a human in the world.

Who are your artistic influences or gurus?

Gustav Klimt, Hilma af Klint, Egon Schiele, Andre Derrain, Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh.

In New Orleans, art and music go hand in hand. What type of music, band or song lyric best describes your work?

"I sneezed on the beat and the beat got sicker. "

Where can we find you when you are not creating art?

Somewhere in nature, on the beach, in the park, out of town

What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?

early morning, any day of the week, all seasons

I can eat a whole watermelon in one sitting
