Parasol's is an iconic neighborhood dive bar in the heart of the Irish Channel, always filled with a list of regulars, characters, and some tourists that are lucky enough to stumble on to it. It is the epicenter of St. Patrick's Day partying with an epic block party. The Irish Channel was originally home to many of the Irish workers who came here in the 1830s to build the New Basin Canal, a waterway built to connect Lake Pontchartrain with businesses and industry in the developing New Orleans.
