This scene sits the viewer down at a candlelit table in the sultry Marigny neighborhood establishment 'The Allways Lounge'. Audience members relax in the shadows as the band performs in the bright stage-light. The frame of lights around the musicians makes a visual rhythm complementary to the musical one, and its repetition with the light on the table visually connects the viewer / implicit audience member to the performance. The handling of paint is layered, thick and loose to capture the relaxed excitement of nightlife.
