Music is the heartbeat of New Orleans. Inspired by the rich history that jazz played in the culture of New Orleans, Teri Walker and Chad Ridgeway created a collection of iconic jazz instruments out of hot glass for their 2020 collection. This piece features a hand blown clarinet in green glass with gold detailing and a detachable black metal stand for easy display.

Other items in this collection include colorful clarinets, trumpets and mix media sculptures including metal music barlines with glass music notes, instruments, and musician's hands attached.

Each musical instrument is sculpted out of 2100 degree Fahrenheit molten hot glass and shaped by the artist's hand.

Follow this artist

Our journey together as a couple and as artistic partners began in 2007 when we met and fell in love. Chad Ridgeway was an American metal sculptor and chef living and working in Paris, and Teri Walker was a Canadian glassblower and painter living in New Orleans. Suddenly the possibilities seemed endless for us to create sculptures together and combine all our skills to reflect our whimsical way of life. Teri Walker graduated from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto Canada followed by Rhode Island School of Design (Masters) and has been an artist in residence at Torontos Harbourfront Studios and the New Orleans School of Glassworks

We continue to travel regularly between Canada and the United states teaching and making art in both countries.

We are fascinated by all the glass shapes we can make on the end of a blowpipe at 2000°F. Combining these shapes with welded and forged metal allows us a greated scale and detail.

Teri Walker and Chad Ridgeway are New Orleans artists living and working in the Marigny neighborhood.
