Attempting to paint a psychedelic trip is a pretty tall order, but after an inspired pairing of psilocybin and shamanic drum meditation inducing a trance state where we can access the akashic fields, this piece appeared to me partially formed while I was in the liminal state between both worlds at the end of my journey. Psilocybin treated as healing plant medicine can reveal hallucinatory images as metaphors, and sometimes very literal messages, and is worth setting time aside for.
Also, I’d never really responded to the ouroboro, or a snake swallowing its tail, as a symbol of eternity before. But in this vision I saw each snake giving birth to a new snake which gave birth to a new snake into infinity. A symbol of regeneration versus consumption makes more sense to me as a symbol of infinity, but……I also understand the shorthand symbol of one snake now!
