I started my creative career drawing on my parent's furniture. From that point on I took a ridiculous amount of workshops and received a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. In college, I focused on metalsmithing and discovered enamel. It was the perfect mesh of the two mediums I had fallen in love with. It opened up another world of techniques for me. In my current paintings, I'm using the materials much as I would with traditional enameling-layer upon layer. Each layer is interacting differently and sometimes unexpectedly with the one below it, creating a piece that varies wildly from my beginning expectations. Each paint stroke, a layer of resin, is as much an act of emotion as one of logic. These pieces give a little bit of insight into the artist to each person who views it.
