City Park, New Orleans.
She has a love affair with the underdog. She is a safe haven for wanderers, artists, musicians, and people too unique to categorize. She embraces the aged buildings and gritty dirty streets, and she lovingly cradles long abandoned structures with her twisted oak limbs. She is New Orleans. Once a pristine golf course, this area of New Orleans' City Park has become a wild and welcome place. Old dilapidated buildings covered in works of art and witty graffiti are surrounded by lush grasses, native trees, and wildflowers. Some cities would see this as blight. New Orleans and many of her residents have found wonderment in the beautiful intersection of humanity and nature. The Mother, New Orleans herself, cradles the dirty and neglected building, and embraces the haunting beauty of the morning.
